Fendi Milan Fashion Week spring summer 2011 handbags
Fendi showed their spring and summer 2011 collection on the Milan Fashion Week runway earlier today and sent a breath of fresh air throughout the fashion world. The clothing styles Fendi showed on the Milan Fashion Week runway did not fit into any of the trends Fashionistas have been watching unfold during the New York and London Fashion Week’s this month. The classic trend, rocker chic trend, jewel tone trend and 1970’s silhouette trend were missing from the Fendi runway; unless hairstyles count. The only part of the Fendi show that gave a glimpse into any of the other trends from the New York, London and Milan runway shows were the 1970’s hairstyles on the models. The Fendi handbag collection on the Milan Fashion Polo Ralph Lauren Outlet Week runway also transcended the current trends with variations of the classic Fendi bags Fashionistas grown accustomed to.
Fendi showed three distinct styles of handbags on the Milan Fashion Week runway for spring and summer 2011. There were updated lady bags, smaller shoulder bag and soft clutches. The soft clutches were the only item on the Fendi runway that fit into a current spring and summer trend. The lady bag is left over from fall and really fits into Fendi’s classic handbag collection rather than their contemporary line.
The Fendi lady bag had three colors, brown, tan and black trim. This gave a modern, updated twist to the solid colored lady bags Fashionistas are used to seeing in Fendi’s handbag collection as well as from most designers in fall 2010. The lady bag was medium sized and could easily fit most handbag essentials as well as a few extra items. The bag was structured and featured one top handle. The tri-color look of the bag allows it to blend into casual looks as well. By creating a tri-color lady bag, Fendi moved the lady bag trend from the »dressed-up » category into the »everyday » category.
Fendi also showed small shoulder bags that can barely fit a wallet, lipstick and keys. The shoulder bag straps allowed the handbag to hit the models at the top of the hip bone; about two to three inches higher than the straps other handbag designers have been showing for spring and summer 2011. Fendi showed colors and patterns that were anything but understated or neutral. The solid colors were bright; red, turquoise and blue. The patterns were vertical stripes and woven straw with a mixture of colors such as red, blue, Polo Ralph Lauren Outlet green, black and shades of brown. Fendi used a variety of fabrications such as leather, straw, canvas and satin. Perhaps Fendi is trying to make the 2011 shoulder bag as unique as the baguette back in the SATC days when Fendi bags created hysteria among Fashionistas.
The small clutch Fendi featured on the Milan Fashion Week runway was soft; much like the small clutches designers showed in New York and London. The small clutches were bright and shown in turquoise, red, blue and green. There were also non-leather clutches shown in woven straw and canvas.
Fendi handbags are highly coveted and Fashionistas who adore Fendi will have a lot of choices to get excited about for spring. The collection is anything but shy and will intrigue handbag Fashionistas everywhere.
